Few Questions 1. With players like Conor Gillaspie CI CHW PP17. Are those players eligible for our MILB roster? Lets say I get one of those PP players for 5M a year. 2. Alex Rodriguez is done for 2014. Can he be put on IR spot or he will have to be on regular 25 man roster and take space? 3. What happens if 2 owners have the same exact bid?

as far as number 3 id say let the two tying bids do non blind bidding and see who outbids the other basically if its a tie

No, only players on actual PP contracts can go to the minors 2. I am not sure, it may be whatever FanTrax says (Jimmy can answer this better) 3. I am 99% sure it is time sensitive, meaning the first to send in the bid is the winner.

Re Cyclones questions - see ruthianrotobaseball.proboards.com/thread/15/14-ml-roster-scoringNote it seems like we switched from ESPN to Fantrax, but the concept is the same. Guys can be either on the MLB or the MiLB roster. You are limited by salary cap and by the total roster spots, so it is unlikely you'll be able to load up the minors with a lot of extra $5 mil MLB guys. A-Rod has to take up a roster spot. The only "exceptions" that maybe get you an extra guy is if a player is officially on the DL (even then, you'd lose the extra spot when he came off so it is not worth the hassle to try to gain that one extra player out of what, 55 guys we get anyway). (I'm not a LM - just my interpretation of the rules).

yeah, not an LM either but i agree with what red barons said. you can put arod on the DL, but he still counts against your 55man roster spots, just not your 25m mlb spots. although since i'm assuming DL spots are limited, you'll be sacrificing a DL spot for the season, if that matters (and RB rightfully points out it might not since you can only move PP guys back to the minors later to accommodate guys coming off the DL so you can't sign a guy to an MLB contract and then later demote him). the only an exception i'd think is that if you drafted someone whose original contract was an minor league deal that you could start him out in the minors (since your original contract with him was a minor league deal), but once you promote him you won't be able to send him back down since he's not PP. that would only apply to draftees though (and then only draftees signed to minor league deals). anyone signed in our FA (rather than prospect bonus bidding) will be considered to be a MLB guy and thus will have to be put on your 25man roster not milb.

ARod isn't injured though, so I'm not sure if he would qualify for a DL spot. I think if you signed ARod he would have to be on your active 25 man roster all year. Again, just my opinion, not a ruling. But either way, he counts towards your 55 man roster, one way or the other.

In my viewing a suspended player does not have to be on the active 25 for MLB, he doesn't have to be hear. The DL spot is the best spot for him if you sign him, as he won't be a minor leaguer. If you need to make room on your DL Spot, you can move him to your bench if necessary.

A-Rod is not injured; he is suspended WITHOUT PAY; that's the penalty for his conduct.
Difficult situation, for sure. Hard to determine what is correct thing to do with him, but certainly he is not eligible for a DL slot. Look at any fantasy baseball site ESPN, CBS, Fantrax, Yahoo, etc) and you will not see A-Rod as DL eligible.
The team that owns him here should have to pay him or release him. Where to carry him is the dilemma. A bench slot seems the most logical, since if he's owned he must be carried as owned, he must be paid and he can't play.
Matter of fact, Fantrax has him listed as in the MINORS. Maybe that's because he can train/stay in shape, but is not eligible for MLB roster.

I know that he will never play for the Yankees again. Yankee management is saying all the right things right now about AROD that they want him back but that's because they don't want to be in any legal trouble. The only team that can take a chance on him is Miami Marlins. Jeffrey Loria loves him and some people in Miami still love him here. If I can bid on AROD and hide him somewhere in my squad without him taking a room on a 25 man MLB squad then why not. If he has to be on a 25 man roster then no TY.
