So I am always interested in making this league as competitive as possible, with as many teams competing and as few teams in constant rebuilds as possible. To me, there is never a better incentive then to add a cash prize for winning. There are many ways to skin this cat, but I would prefer to see how much interest is in the league for this. This would not start til 2017 for a couple of reasons: 1) I don't want to jump this idea on anyone, 2) for teams that feel the need to evaluate and plan for a cash incentive, I want to give them the appropriate time to plan their roster.
** if we do the donation based option, there would be 2 caveats. #1 obviously if you do not pay in the current year you obviously can't win any cash. #2 I would also suggest if you do not donate the year previous, you also cannot win cash the current year. This would force rebuild teams into something of a "small blind" position, where they are essentially stating their time table to be competitive, and not automatically just deciding when to trade talent to build a worst-to-first roster. (cash not won can be rolled over, and teams that contributed donations would receive a credit for the future year and would not need to donate $ the following year) **
This is also an open forum to discussion. Again this is preliminary, so open to ideas and such.

You should also select A or B, and if you select A please select 1 or 2 for the poll

I appreciate your thoughtfulness on this Jimmy. It feels like it's more for the love of it when there's not any $ involved. There's not shortage of ways to place some wagers on sports or fantasy sports these days. I guess I appreciate the fact that no one here is in it for the cash reward - just self-satisfaction, fantasy baseball nerd comraderie, and bragging rights.

I have done some low cash leagues that were redraft leagues. I wouldn't be opposed to one in a dynasty or keeper league, but the ones I have always been in before were with people I knew personally, at least friends of friends. No offense, but I don't know anyone personally here and it seems like some of you guys may know each other, so the pessimist in me would be concerned about any collusion. If it were a small pot, I doubt it would be a problem.
Also, since I Have chosen a complete rebuild route, if it became a cash league I would be screwed, so I would want it for a fresh league w a new draft, as opposed to changing an existing set up into one.

Why not just form another league and set it up as a cash league -- rather than change this one?
El Guapo does not have the discretionary income to spend on a $$ league.

Mom tossed the really valuable ones, and the newer ones that we are trying to deal aren't ours -- we're just brokering them for a lady.
We do have a pretty big stack of Kevin Maas Rookie cards; we could probably put up a couple of those. heh heh

Haven't heard that name in a long time. Used to watch him at Albany-Colonie growing up.
