Iglesias is technically spec. And he's not some new spec like Moncada where we get bidding because he wasn't in the draft. Iglesias was signed in June 2014 and was actually eligible for spec bidding during the 2014 season as a guy signed prior to July 2 (he's over 24 but was eligible for bonus bidding last August). Also, as a minor league carryover from 2014 he was eligible for our 2015 draft and no one took him then either. So it would seem like since this is not the first chance at him like a rusney or sthg, there's no similar reason for an exception to allow him for early bidding now (other than we all slept on him) and he should go to regular spec bidding in May/June instead of preseason UFA. Does it matter a ton either way, probably not, except you could say that about every spec that we aren't allowed to bid on until May/June.

Iglesias will be eligible to be bid on with pitchers. Because of his age and his proximity to the majors, it makes sense to have him available to accumulate stats for anyone wanting his service.
Much like the other Cubans, Iglesias will be eligible for a SIGNING BONUS bid, not a regular contract.
