Pelicans receive: Patrick Corbin 2015: 0.5M (PP-2017) and Franklin Barreto (prospect) from Braves Thomas Shirley (prospect) from Spirits
Spirits receive: Wil Venable 2015: 4.25M from Pelicans
Braves receive: Mark Appel (prospect) and Franchy Cordero (prospect) from Pelicans Teoscar Hernandez (prospect) from Spirits
I accept. I hate to lose Appel and Venable, but I really like Corbin more. Barreto is a very nice player and I value him very highly so I don't mind giving up Appel to get those two. Thomas Shirley is a nice spot starter/reliever for my team and he is something my team desperately needs.

confirm. my ultimate end is corbin-barreto for appel-teoscar-cordero. love barreto, hate to lose him. but strategically, the longerterm SP makes sense for me.

I also confirm.
We'll see if Venable is the everyday CFer now that Kemp and Smith seem to be the corner guys. But this gives me the OF depth to use him only against RHP, where he grades much higher. I love his bounce back, multi-stat potential given unlucky batted ball rates last year and this being a walk year for him. Hate to give up Teoscar, but I was dealing from MiLB OF depth and furthering my MLB OF depth charts next year trumped waiting for him to develop. Great negotiations.
