Javelinas agree. This is about roster management for me. I didn't want to lose Ortiz for nothing since I don't have a tag for him. I am getting, hopefully, a rebound candidate in Butler, and some extra pitching depth.

Unless Butler had a huge 2nd half I was unlikely to pick up his option, while hopefully Ortiz gives me a power upgrade over Butler's 3 HR to date and I can sneak into the playoffs. I loathed moving Cuthbert to the Javelinas in the Sonny Gray trade and welcome him back as an under rated prospect still learning the nuances of baseball. Guthrie was going to be waived if I couldn't find a taker for him, so just happy to save the $.3M waiver fee.
