Completely off topic from the stance of baseball.... I had planned to visit my brother in Alaska this summer with the wife as our vacation, but those plans seem to have fallen through. So the next best option for both of us is some sort of Beach/Golf combination of a vacation. Does anyone have any information of some hidden gem spots in the Carolinas that they would love to share? Appreciate any and all knowledge and opinions.

you can't beat Myrtle Beach for beach / golf. I've also been to Top Sail Island a couple of times... more of a quiet family oriented place, not nearly as much to do as in Myrtle.

My idea had been to hit a quieter spot for 3 days than drive down to Pinehurst for the Golf. Doesn't necessarily have to all be in the same place...
Also thinking of driving over to Biltmore Estate for a day.

Its a longggg way from biltmore to the beach
Well lucky for me its a full 9 days of vacation. My plan wouldbe to stop in Pinehurst for a few days to break that up though.

I'll second Topsail. My family goes there every year for a week and it's been great. Just get a place that has a kitchen, or just eat at Hardees or something. Not much in the way of good food there. But there are a couple markets where you can get some fresh-caught seafood. Lot of golf in that area too, but since having kids I've been anchored to the beach house for a few years.
