Could not agree more with everything Tim said.
It's not a poor argument to suggest you relied on league rules in part in your decisioning to make a transaction. League rules are exactly what should be considered when making a transaction.
Very poor precident making rule changes that apply to previous transactions.

This is really no different than me buying a 2003 model car at a used car dealership. The dealer informs me that all used cars come with a warranty that covers half of all future repairs for the next 3 years. A year later, I get a letter from the dealer that the warranty will now only pay 25% of the repairs. I call the dealer to complain and inform him that I might not have bought this vehicle or I would have paid less had I known that. The dealer then informs me that its a 2003 model and what should I really expect its an old car and you should have known better.

These changes do not affect me since I do not have any existing contracts, but I totally agree with Tim's post also.
